You cannot separate the person from the conditions they are living through. “Just get help” isn’t always that simple. Care and support should be responsive to people. Context matters, especially when violence, coercion & suicidal distress intersect. Intersectionality isn’t a buzzword. Context isn’t background information. Context is part of the risk. Everything is connected. People deserve support for the whole picture, not just the crisis in front of us. Survival is not just about getting through today. Sometimes it is about having enough safety, support and autonomy to believe tomorrow is worth reaching 🫶🏾
