The RS badge makes way more sense when you read it backwards, and the C5 is the part everyone conveniently forgets. Save this before you argue about it in someone's comments. 1. The RS2 wasn't really an Audi. Porsche co-developed it and assembled it in Zuffenhausen, and it wore the proof — 911 Cup-style wheels, 911 mirrors, Porsche brakes, PORSCHE spelled out across the nose. A 2.2 turbo five in a family wagon, and Audi's whole performance identity started from that. 2. It started as a wagon on purpose. The fast-estate thing wasn't a niche experiment for Audi, it was the default. Every argument you've had about sedan vs Avant was already settled in 1994. 3. The B7 RS4 is the peak and it isn't close. 4.2 FSI, naturally aspirated, spinning past 8,000. No turbos to hide behind, no tune file to fix a bad chassis.
