What a weekend. After weeks of thinking about this painting, wondering if I could make it what I hoped it would be, and anxiously anticipating the auction, I finally got to watch it leave my hands and become part of something much bigger than me. I’ll be honest, I was nervous. I had spent so much time and heart on this piece, and I had no idea if anyone would even bid on it. And then… it got an overbid! 🥹❤️ The relief. The disbelief. The happiness. Knowing that someone wanted this painting badly enough to bid more than the starting price is something I’m incredibly grateful for. But the best part? The money is going to an incredible cause helping support suicide prevention. Knowing that something I created can help contribute to that mission makes all those hours of painting, second-guessing, waiting, and worrying completely worth it.
