#HipHopHistory - On this day in 1994,
#CraigMack released his debut studio album, Project: Funk da World, through Bad Boy Records. The album arrived just one week after The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die, making it the label’s second full-length release.
Powered by the breakout hit “Flava in Ya Ear,” the album helped establish Bad Boy’s early sound and was certified Gold by the RIAA in 1995. While Biggie’s massive success would ultimately overshadow the project, Project: Funk da World remains an important piece of ’90s hip-hop history and Craig Mack’s legacy.
