Abby Fridman, of Suffolk County, 26, was originally planning on being a doctor. She was attending Stony Brook University when she started posting on social media. It didn’t take long for her to gain a following and start making money using the different platforms. After graduating, she gave herself an ultimatum: If in three months she didn’t start making money on social media, she would go to medical school. “I started paying a lot more attention to making my TikTok than my chemistry class,” she said.
