Arizona’s $106 million freeway project aimed at making the drive between Phoenix and Las Vegas faster is now about 80% complete. ADOT is building a new interchange connecting I-40 and US 93 in west Kingman, replacing the current traffic-light setup with a free-flowing connection. Once finished, drivers traveling between Phoenix and Las Vegas will be able to move between the two highways without stopping at the Beale Street signal. The project includes roughly a mile of new ramps, new bridges and tunnels, along with widened roadway. Crews recently opened a new 239-foot tunnel and are continuing work on the remaining ramps and flyover sections. Construction began in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027. Would this make you more likely to drive to Vegas instead of fly? 👀 #Arizona #Phoenix #LasVegas #Kingman #ArizonaNews
