A 57-year-old Arizona woman was arrested after investigators started hiding GPS trackers inside packages to figure out who kept stealing mail around Camp Verde. Authorities say one of the tracked packages was taken from a mailbox on Aug. 11 and led them to a Camp Verde home. Investigators later located a white Kia tied to the case and, during a traffic stop, say they found suspected stolen mail, merchandise, IDs and financial cards inside. The driver, Laura Amundson of Rimrock, was arrested on drug-related charges. Investigators later searched a home connected to the case and say they found more property, multiple guns, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. One of the guns had been reported stolen out of Phoenix. Mail-theft charges could still follow. Authorities believe there may be even more victims who haven’t realized or reported their mail missing yet. #Arizona #CampVerde #ArizonaNews #VerdeValley #AZNews
