Here is Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ National Monument! This 11-metre column is literally being broken apart from the inside by a thundercloud, a symbol of 2SLGBTQI+ communities breaking through barriers. 😮 It’s a beautiful sculpture created by a team from Winnipeg. It’s located in a new public space overlooking the Ottawa River, featuring a pathway tracing aspects of 2SLGBTQI+ history in Canada, a healing circle with stones selected by Two-Spirit Elders, a medicinal garden and an orchard. The monument recognizes the historic discrimination faced by 2SLGBTQI+ communities in Canada and celebrates the resilience and achievements of those who fought for equality. 📍 201 Wellington St. Have you seen it? #thingstodoinottawa #ottawa #ottawatourism #ottawaart
