We have a new pop up exhibit on display at the Sacramento History Museum! “Drawing Democracy” is a month-long exhibition exploring political cartooning, satire, free expression, and democracy. Come see how a drawing can make us laugh, think, question—and sometimes even challenge the status quo! The exhibition runs from September 18 through October 31 and is included with Museum admission. To help spread the word about the new exhibit, Channey letterpress printed an engraving that depicts a political cartoon of James “Sunny Jim” Rolph who ran for governor of California and served from 1931 until he passed away in office on June 2, 1934. He previously was the longest serving mayor in San Francisco from 1912 until his resignation to become governor.
