📷 HEISMAN PORTRAIT OF THE WEEK: realbillysims 💥 Billy Sims became the sixth junior and third ou_football player to win the Heisman Trophy after leading the nation in rushing in 1978. After overcoming early injuries, Sims broke out with a dominant season, setting a Big Eight record with 1,762 rushing yards while averaging over 7.0 yards per carry and scoring 20 touchdowns. He surpassed 200 yards in four games and led Oklahoma to a 10–1 regular season and a No. 4 national ranking. Sims followed his Heisman campaign with a standout Orange Bowl performance and later became one of only a few players to both win the award and finish as a runner-up in another season. He finished his Oklahoma career with 4,118 rushing yards and was inducted into the cfbhall in 1995. #Heisman | #MoreThanATrophy
