📷 HEISMAN PORTRAIT OF THE WEEK: Billy Vessels 💥 Billy Vessels made history as ou_football's first Heisman Trophy winner and the first recipient to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. He also became the first T-formation running back to claim college football’s most prestigious honor. After starring on Oklahoma’s 1950 consensus national championship team, Vessels delivered a remarkable senior campaign, rushing for 1,072 yards and 18 touchdowns. A nationally televised 195-yard performance against Notre Dame brought him widespread acclaim and helped propel him to the Heisman Trophy.
