There was a Senate hearing this past week in which the current nominee for the US surgeon general Nicole Saphier MD, who is a radiologist, faced intense questioning from various members of the Senate. Her confirmation vote should be coming up soon, but no date has been announced. 🚨 Fun fact: we've never actually had a radiologist be the surgeon general. For those who don't know, the surgeon general is basically the nation’s top doctor and makes a lot of decisions about public health policy. 👉 What do you think about this nomination?
