The Latinx Heritage Month Kickoff started on Sept. 16, 2026, celebrating latinx heritage with a performance by San Francisco’s oldest Danza Azteca Mexica group north of the Mexican border. They were founded in 1981 and their mission is solely to share and preserve traditions of Danza Mexica that are rooted in spirituality, culture and ceremonial traditions.
