At a press conference in Geneva on 16 September 2026, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros gave an update on the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He said "We are seeing encouraging signs that we are gaining ground against #Ebola in the #DRC. But to slow this outbreak and stop it, we need more resources. We are grateful to all donors who have supported the response. More support is urgently needed."
