#NeverForget911 🇺🇸 When I photographed "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon I asked BillyJoel if I could place the fireman's helmet on top of his piano to honor the firefighters and my dad who was a retired FDNY fireman Engine 285 Ozone Park. Billy and everyone thought the helmet was my dad's but it wasn't. I borrowed it from a firehouse where JonBonJovi performed at that day. I always wondered who the fireman was who owned it because he wasn't there that day. So 20 years later I went to the firehouse and tracked him down with the help of firefighter David Offitto, it was Neil Skow helmet. I talked to Neil on the phone and finally met him at the memorial at his firehouse. He was an Army Reservist, Col. Neil Skow who went to Iraq to serve our country, he took the 9/11 flag and flew the flag at bases there.
