Tim Knight is a self described bear, and by his own account this should have been an awful year for him. It has not been, and he explains why: correlation across the market has plunged into what he calls a real stock pickers market, where the indexes push to lifetime highs while plenty of individual names still break down. There are always opportunities, even for someone positioned short, as long as you are picking names rather than betting the tape.
