Today I had the opportunity to attend the Community Corps Networking Social lunch and connect with incredible community leaders at the UNT Health College of Public Health.
As someone new to public health, events like this help me build connections that support our students.
And honestly…how can I give networking advice if I don’t practice it myself every once in a while? 😊 Plus, we even networked with a plan, which made it a lot easier.
It was also great to see fellow Texas Christian University alumni and hear thoughtful insights from Dr. Stacey Griner, who shared a perspective I really liked: researchers create the maps or models and community leaders navigate the terrain. It’s a good reminder that research and community work really need each other and not just in marketing and communications, but especially in public health.
