The “YANGWANG U9 Xtreme” reached an unbelievable 496.22 KM/H (308.34 MPH) at Germany’s ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg on September 14, 2025, officially becoming the world’s fastest production car.
The U9 Xtreme is the extreme-performance version of the YANGWANG U9, BYD’s luxury performance hypercar. It uses four electric motors and BYD’s e⁴ platform along with the advanced DiSus-X intelligent body-control system to deliver incredible stability and performance. BYD says the car produces more than 3,000 PS and uses a 1,200V+ electrical platform.
But the story behind BYD is even more impressive. Founded in Shenzhen, China, in 1995 by Wang Chuanfu, BYD originally started as a rechargeable-battery manufacturer before entering the automotive industry in 2003. The company eventually expanded into electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, batteries, renewable energy and more.#BYD#U9Xtreme BYDU9 ElectricHypercar
