šŸ”„ The Toyota 2JZ-GTE earned its reputation as one of the most legendary engines ever built. Introduced in the A80 Supra in 1993, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six combined a cast-iron block, forged crankshaft and an unusually stout bottom end. Toyota officially rated the Japanese-market version at 280 PS, while export versions of the Supra Turbo produced as much as 320 horsepower from the factory. What made the 2JZ truly famous was the enormous amount of additional power tuners discovered could be extracted from the platform. With upgraded turbochargers, fueling, engine management and supporting hardware, properly built 2JZs have become known for producing four-figure horsepower numbers. More than three decades later, the engine remains a favorite for drag racing, drifting, street builds and engine swaps around the world. Is the 2JZ-GTE the greatest tuner engine ever made?
