Henry Winkler recalls how his parents hid their family heirlooms inside melted chocolate just to escape Nazi Germany with enough resources to survive. It’s a striking reminder of the lengths our ancestors went to preserve their families and legacy. His father, Harry Irving Winkler, later started a lumber business and was able to purchase back the jewelry.
