A proposed settlement between Paramount Skydance, Warner Bros. Discovery and a coalition of 12 state attorneys general brings the companies closer to completing their massive merger.
It also leaves a major Nashville question unanswered: Will Paramount Skydance bring its corporate headquarters, or another major office, to Music City?
The proposed agreement, announced Monday by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, would resolve the states’ antitrust lawsuit challenging Paramount’s planned acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The states argued the deal could reduce competition, lead to fewer films and raise costs for consumers.
The agreement still needs court approval. If approved, it would allow the merger to move forward while putting several requirements on the combined company over the next five years.
