Facts 🔥💯 Kanye West’s verse on Jeezy’s 2008 song “Put On” is memorable because of how personal and emotional it is. The song focuses on representing where you come from, and for Kanye, that city is Chicago. Throughout his career, Chicago has been a major part of his identity, and in “Put On,” he makes it clear that he still represents his hometown even after becoming famous. His verse also has a darker meaning because he talks about loneliness, stress, success, and losing his mother, Donda West. This makes his part of the song feel deeper than simply bragging about fame. “Put On” shows how much Chicago means to Kanye because he connects his success, struggles, and identity back to the city that shaped him. #rapmusic #kanyewest #ye #chicago
