Good choice leaving it on 💯🔥 Kanye West released “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” as the opening track on his 2016 album The Life of Pablo. The song samples gospel singer Pastor T.L. Barrett’s “Father I Stretch My Hands,” pairing that spiritual foundation with a stripped down, gospel infused beat built around vocal chops and a steady kick drum. Kanye’s verses touch on relationships, fame, and personal struggle, while Desiigner’s ad libs, later expanded into the interpolated “Panda” hook, add a chaotic, almost improvised energy that contrasts with the reverent sample. The track set the tone for the album’s blend of sacred and profane themes, and it became one of the more divisive yet influential moments on a project defined by its unfinished, evolving sound. #rapmusic #hiphop #kanyewest #ye
