UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on world leaders to push for de-escalation and dialogue as conflicts continue to spread across the Middle East.⁣ ⁣ Speaking during the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week, Guterres said recent ceasefires had done little to protect civilians.⁣ ⁣ He called for the fighting to stop, humanitarian aid to reach those in need and navigational rights and freedoms to be restored in line with international law.⁣ ⁣ Guterres urged leaders gathered at the UN to use the week for diplomacy and to send a clear message in favor of de-escalation.⁣ ⁣ #UN #AntonioGuterres #MiddleEast #Diplomacy
