The Chinese Embassy in the United States held a handover ceremony on September 16 for the return of Chinese cultural relics, artworks, and paleontological fossils to China.⁣ ⁣ Speaking at the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to the US Xie Feng said the returned items were the result of years of cooperation between the relevant authorities of China and the US.⁣ ⁣ The relics handed over that day totaled 58 pieces across 10 batches. Among them was a Bodhisattva statue originally from the Tianlongshan Grottoes in Shanxi Province, an artistic treasure that was looted and lost overseas more than a hundred years ago and is now finally on its way home.⁣ ⁣ The batch also included pottery figurines, stone statues, and paleontological fossils, all of which carry significant historical, cultural, and scientific value.⁣ ⁣ #China #CulturalHeritage #ArtifactReturn #ChinaUS #CulturalRelics
