Today I got hit!
Recently, I would leave my momās house keys off my keychain, to prevent myself from going there on a whim.
I would drive by and not look back, just so I could dodge the feeling that the house that has been my home for 36 years would soon not be mine anymore.
But today, as I drove past it ā September 14th, 2026 ā it hit me hard.
After winning silver at the European Championships, I couldnāt stop thinking about texting my mom or going by to tell her about it.
Hearing her congratulate me, and soon after tell me to go rest. Because I do too much.
Ask me if I ate today.
Offer me some candy to take home because she wonāt eat it anyway.
This past weekend, I felt a level of anxiety I hadnāt been familiar with for years. I couldnāt place it. Couldnāt calm it.
Until I got on the court during the semis.
And from that moment, it was gone.
This weekend reset me.
I started writing again. Creating space, to make room for new moments to find their place.
So just like that...
