Seventeen days before Wisconsin, I wanted to better understand where my overhead strength actually sits.
I worked the Clean & Push Press through 45, 95, 135, 155, 175, and 195 pounds before reaching 205 for a single—and then holding 205 overhead for 18.75 seconds.
Then I took the clean out of the equation.
From the rack, 210 went up. I followed it with 225 pounds for a single and held that overhead for another 17.35 seconds.
A barbell isn’t the competition implement waiting for me in Wisconsin, so I’m not treating these numbers as a direct prediction. But I now know considerably more about the overhead strength and control I’m bringing to the platform.
205 from the floor.
225 from the rack.
And neither came back down immediately.
17 days.
