Nigeria’s state satellite operator NigComSat has partnered with Hughes Network Systems to deploy its JUPITER scalable gateway system for the ground segment of the new NigComSat-2A and 2B satellites. The deployment provides the multi-band infrastructure required to stream high-capacity broadband, enterprise connectivity, and secure government traffic across the region. By upgrading its ground segment alongside satellite construction, Nigeria is strengthening its digital communications sovereignty. This investment will improve backhaul connectivity for telecom operators, lower latency for enterprise cloud applications, and bring stable internet access to remote regions.
