As artificial intelligence workloads scale toward multi-trillion parameter models across the Middle East, Huawei has introduced its next-generation Atlas 960E SuperPoD and Hi-ONE optical engine. The hardware architecture addresses system bandwidth and massive energy consumption in enterprise data centers.
The Atlas 960E utilizes Near-Packaged Optics (NPO) to link up to 4,096 NPUs, delivering up to 8 EFLOPS of FP8 computing power. By replacing 48,000 standard optical transceivers with 5,500 integrated Hi-ONE units, the system reduces power consumption by over 550 kW and significantly increases hardware reliability for large-scale AI training.
This infrastructure milestone directly supports Middle Eastern enterprises and public sector operators seeking high-density, energy-efficient compute capabilities for localized sovereign AI deployment.
