Cairo-based fintech Zeal has raised $10 million in fresh equity capital to scale its SmartPOS technology across international markets. Founded by Omar Ebeid and Belal Mohamed, Zeal builds software plugins that integrate directly into physical payment terminals. The platform allows physical retailers to identify returning customers, trigger personalized loyalty rewards at checkout, and convert offline payments into actionable customer data. This latest investment brings Zeal’s total funding to $14 million following a $4 million round in 2024. The company has already established partnerships across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. The new capital will support the activation of signed contracts covering over 4 million payment machines globally over the next two years. Zeal highlights a growing trend of North African fintechs leveraging local engineering to export proprietary payment technology worldwide.
