Twenty-six years after cathyfreeman won Olympic 400m gold in Nike’s now-iconic hooded Swift Suit, keely.hodgkinson has taken the silhouette back to the track. Taking around a year to create, Keely’s custom nike aerodynamic speed suit uses 3D-printed vortex generators designed to reduce drag, minimal seams, a hood and a ponytail cut-out at Keely’s request. The piece made its debut last night at athlos London, where Keely won the 800m in 1:56.40, taking home $65,000 and a custom tiffanyandco crown.
