Behind the Rescue: What’s a courtesy listing? 🐾
When someone asks us to take in an animal, the answer is often: we simply don’t have anywhere for them to go.
NMAR doesn’t have a traditional shelter. Our animals live in foster homes, and when those homes are full, we can’t bring another animal into the rescue, no matter how much we may want to help.
That’s where courtesy listings come in.
If an owner or finder can keep an animal safe while looking for a new home, we may be able to list the pet alongside our adoptable animals, help screen applications, and sometimes assist with vaccines and spay/neuter when resources allow. With donations down significantly, what we can cover is limited.
The animals pictured here are some of our current courtesy listings, all strays picked up by good Samaritans who can’t keep them permanently, but can keep them safe for now.
