BREAKING: The Mets are hiring Andy Green as their full-time manager, per multiple sources. Green will receive a three-year deal. Green took over at the helm after Carlos Mendoza was fired and has the Mets sitting at 37-38 since taking over. Green has not been a manager since 2016, when he spent parts of four seasons with the San Diego Padres, going 274-366 and failing to make the playoffs during that stretch. The Mets struggled right out of the gate and fired Mendoza after an ugly 34-47 start. Surprisingly, though, despite a haul of players being shipped out at the trade deadline, Green has done quite well with what he’s had to work with. Green will get a clean slate starting in 2027, which will mark year 1 of his three-year contract. #Mets #LFGM #AndyGreen
