Building Your Shot 🎯
Great shooters aren’t made from reps alone. They’re built from the ground up 🆙
Building a shot takes time on court, an understanding of mechanics, resilience, and a commitment to efficiency. A couple of sessions won’t transform your shooting. It’s a process.
Too many kids get blinded by the Dr Dish machine, thinking hours on it will make them a shooter. It won’t 🙅🏻‍♂️
A Dr Dish builds repetition and muscle memory. That’s it. If your mechanics are wrong before you step on it, all you’re doing is getting really good at doing it wrong, over and over again 🤦🏻‍♂️
A shot has to be built, just like a golf swing, a snooker stroke, or a tennis serve. Breaking down technique and teaching it properly is NOT the same as just putting up shots.
A “trainer” who stands under the rim rebounding and passing, without ever breaking down and constructing your shot, isn’t helping you. (Even if they’ve got an American accent while they do it) 🫣
Build it right. Then rep it. ...
