HE STARTED THE WORK. HIS BROTHERS FINISHED IT.
Just three days after 21-year-old Dorian Jackson died while helping save his younger sister from drowning, his fraternity brothers made sure the work he had planned still happened.
According to WXII, Jackson had organized “Building a Better Man” at his alma mater, Dudley High School in Greensboro. The program was created to teach young men practical skills, including how to tie a double Windsor knot, dress for an interview, and find scholarships for college.
Jackson never got to see the event happen.
He died September 19 after his sister’s kayak capsized on Lake Norman. According to WBTV and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Jackson went into the water to help her. She survived. His body was recovered the following day.
But on Tuesday night, the program went forward.
