Janel Grant says she feels forgiveness toward Vince McMahon, and that she nearly didn't survive the day her story broke.
Grant gave her first media interview to POSTWrestling and Wrestlenomics, conducted by John Pollock and Brandon Thurston. Asked what she feels toward McMahon now: "Forgiveness. I don't know how else to describe it, other than there's something that does not take up space in my brain. I feel even empathy."
She said what occupies her mind is the chain of events that led to the anonymous emails to WWE's board in 2022, which she denies sending and whose sender has never been identified, and the Wall Street Journal story that followed. She said she was told through her attorney at the time that "Vince feels badly about this." Her first question was whether McMahon was okay.
Grant said she came close to taking her own life the evening the Journal story published on June 15, 2022, and that her then-fiancé stopped her. She then went downstairs and ran a condo board meeting...
