Week 3 of the 2026 HBCU football season delivered statement wins, close finishes and some big performances across the SWAC, MEAC, CIAA and SIAC.
Tennessee State went into Tallahassee and knocked off Florida A&M 29-26, while South Carolina State earned a 20-17 road win over Furman. Morgan State put up 41 points in a win over Towson, and Norfolk State handled Hampton 42-21 in the Battle of the Bay.
In conference action, Benedict escaped Fort Valley State with a 34-33 win, Johnson C. Smith defeated Fayetteville State 20-14, Shaw rolled past Lincoln (PA) 49-27, and Albany State picked up a 32-21 victory over Allen.
Other notable Week 3 results included Morehouse shutting out Lane 44-0, Alabama A&M beating Bowie State 45-3, Southern scoring 50 against Louisiana Christian, Arkansas-Pine Bluff holding off Central State 41-35, and Bethune-Cookman putting up 62 points against Virginia-Lynchburg.
