In response to students wanting a change in Merrill Virtual Food Hall's hours, Senior Marketing Director for Central Michigan University Dining, Amy Probst, said there are currently no plans to change weekend operations.
In an emailed statement, Probst wrote that opening Merrill on weekends would likely mean closing the Eatery. Since there are less students on campus over the weekend, funding and an overall decline in enrollment, the university cannot have all dining halls open on weekends, she wrote.
“CMU finds it important to have dining halls on both ends of campus open,” Probst said. “With Merrill and Dine and Connect being so close to one another, the Eatery has university preference over Merrill.”
