This might be one of those simple accessories that ends up being incredibly useful. These are Milwaukee’s new All Purpose Earth Auger Bits, designed for everything from planting and pest control to landscape lighting and vertical mulching. They use a 7/16” hex shank that’s designed to absorb impacts from material buried in the ground, with Milwaukee claiming up to 10x longer life. The flighting is also designed to dig up to 4x faster than using a hand trowel. What I really like is the 12” flighting length. It lets you drill deeper holes while standing instead of spending the day bent over or working on your knees. Milwaukee also says the design can deliver up to 50% more holes per charge. These are recommended for a right-angle drill with a clutch on low speed — not a standard 1/2” drill/driver.
