A broadcast spreader on the M12 platform? This one could be pretty handy. Milwaukee’s new M12 Handheld Broadcast Spreader is $199 and is designed to give you more control without having to manually crank a traditional handheld spreader. It has a 125° spread pattern, three throw distances at 2, 4, and 6 feet, five dispersion gate settings for different granular materials, and a built-in side deflector to help keep material exactly where you want it. The brushless motor regulates the rotary disk speed to help maintain a consistent spread, and Milwaukee says the included M12 CP2.0 battery can cover up to 76,000 sq. ft. per charge. For me, the interesting part is the control. Being able to adjust both the throw distance and material flow could be useful when you’re working around driveways, gardens, sidewalks, and property lines.
