Demo doesn’t always mean destroying everything. If you’ve got a perfectly good 2x4 that you want to reuse, don’t immediately reach for the pry bar and start beating it apart. Instead, slide a metal-cutting blade on your reciprocating saw between the pieces of lumber and cut through the nails holding them together. Here I’m using my Hilti reciprocating saw with a metal blade to cut the fasteners without destroying the 2x4, allowing me to pull it out and save it for another project down the road. It takes a few extra seconds, but good lumber isn’t getting any cheaper. Sometimes the best demolition technique is figuring out how not to demolish something. Do you save usable lumber during demo, or does everything go straight into the bin? #Hilti #DIY #Carpentry Hilti reciprocating saw, reciprocating saw, Sawzall, metal cutting blade, cutting nails, salvaging lumber, reuse lumber, 2x4, demolition tips, construction tips, carpentry tips, framing lumber, contractor tips, home renovatio...
