“Piggyback” (2026) • I realize I tend to not like to post about the work as it is in progress, but as thesis year/year 2 of MFA is in full swing, I find it important to talk about the work as I go, instilling meaning and formulating a sense of organization amidst the deadlines and finalization of what the work will be. • I approach both a return to photography and a return to a subject I find both inspiring and challenging; relationships with masculinity, the performance of the masculine, and the discussion of topics surrounding fatherhood have always enriched and pushed me. Exploring my thesis as a chance to continue these topics after 6 years, with my father as collaborator and co-author, is both exciting and thrilling. Pictured here is one of many in this ongoing body of work, beginning in May of this year and to (hopefully) culminate in January 2027. • I will share the title of the series at some point but for now, excited to have this work included in the Midwest SPE exhibit...
