The Last Tree — my little afterimage of Kalimantan. Massive forest and land fires are affecting parts of Kalimantan, bringing smoke, worsening air quality, and putting forests and wildlife at risk. Borneo’s rainforest is one of the world’s most important ecosystems, home to orangutans and countless other species. This feels personal to me — my family is still in Indonesia, and they’re feeling the smoke too. If you want to learn more or support the ongoing efforts: 🌿 @irwandiferry — Patungan untuk Hutan / Collective Fundraising for the Forest 🦧 @chaneekalaweit / @andrewkalaweit — forest & wildlife conservation 🦧 Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) — orangutan rescue & habitat protection Please check the organizations’ official pages for the latest updates and verified donation links. And thank you @basia.pazio for the workshop that gave me a space to turn this feeling into a painting. I saw this, and I haven’t forgotten. #karhutla #kalimantan #orangutan
