#HipHopHistory - On September 24, 1991, #ATribeCalledQuest released their second studio album, The Low End Theory. Blending jazz samples, deep basslines, and sharp, conversational rhymes, the album helped define a new hip-hop sound. “Check the Rhime” led the release, while “Scenario” brought the group even more attention. The album became a breakout moment for #PhifeDawg and featured a standout verse from #BustaRhymes that helped introduce him to a wider audience. By February 1992, The Low End Theory had earned a gold certification. Its influence has lasted far beyond the charts. Widely regarded as one of hip-hop’s greatest albums, The Low End Theory was selected for preservation in the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2022. What’s your favorite track?
