#HipHopHistory - On this day in 2003, #Outkast released their groundbreaking fifth studio album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The ambitious double album showcased #BigBoi and #André3000 on separate solo projects under the Outkast name. Big Boi delivered the Southern hip-hop-driven Speakerboxxx, while André pushed boundaries with the experimental, genre-blending The Love Below. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 509,000 copies sold in its first week and produced massive hits including “Hey Ya!,” “The Way You Move” and “Roses.” Speakerboxxx/The Love Below went on to achieve Diamond status and won Album of the Year and Best Rap Album at the 2004 Grammy Awards, becoming just the second hip-hop album in history to take home the prestigious Album of the Year honor. 23 years later, where does this classic rank in Outkast’s catalog? 💿🔥
