Tacos & Tequila Fest came to Geneva yesterday and the lineup put us into a Time Machine and took us back to the ’90s / 2000s. Three 6 Mafia had the whole place going back to the days of “Slob on My Knob,” and it just kept rolling Ja Rule, Ginuwine, Xzibit, Chamillionaire, Yung Joc, Frankie J and MIMS all on the same bill. That’s a ridiculous amount of music I grew up on in one place. Songs I’ve been bumping for 30 years suddenly come on and somehow every single word is still stored in my brain. 😂 Three 6 especially reminded everybody why their sound was so far ahead of its time. What came out of Memphis in the ’90s ended up influencing generations of hip-hop that followed. Tacos, tequila, throwbacks and thousands of people collectively realizing the ’90s really were some of the best times for Rap and R&B. 😭 Chicago showed up for this one and tacosandtequilachicago delivered! #ChicagoHistory #Three6Mafia #TacosAndTequila 🎵 🌮
