YouTube is introducing AI powered Custom Feeds, giving users much more direct control over what the recommendation system shows them. Instead of relying entirely on YouTube’s existing algorithm, you will be able to describe the kind of feed you want in ordinary language. “Latest AI news.” “Long documentaries for winding down.” “New DIY creators.” “Travel videos without crowds.” YouTube can then build and continuously update a dedicated feed around that request, and users will be able to save multiple feeds for different interests or moods. The main recommendation feed is not disappearing. This is an additional layer of control. That is the more interesting signal. For years, social platforms trained users to adapt to algorithms. AI may reverse some of that relationship. The next generation of recommendation systems may increasingly be something we instruct, not something that simply studies us. #MacroSift #YouTube #ArtificialIntelligence #CreatorEconomy #FutureOfMedia
