OpenAI just expanded the GPT 6 family with GPT 6 Sol and GPT 6 Luna. Both inherit much of the capability behind GPT 6 Astra, but they are designed around a different goal: make frontier level intelligence faster, cheaper and easier to deploy at scale. Sol is aimed at harder professional work, coding, factual accuracy and computer use. Luna is built for speed and cost efficiency. And the pricing is where this gets interesting. GPT 6 Sol $2 per 1M input tokens $10 per 1M output tokens GPT 6 Luna $0.10 per 1M input tokens $0.50 per 1M output tokens OpenAI says that is roughly 50% lower API pricing than GPT 5.6 promotional pricing. Astra remains the flagship for maximum capability. But Sol and Luna may matter just as much for adoption. The frontier is getting smarter.
