September 26th is International Rabbit Day! Observed on the fourth Saturday of September, this day promotes the protection and care of domestic and wild rabbits. We didn’t have much options in the rabbit department in the print shop at the Sacramento History Museum (besides something Easter related) until recently. For today, Jared letterpress printed an image from a small photo engraving of a cartoon rabbit. This engraving is about an inch square. This was acquired from a recent eBay purchase. The text below was typeset in 30 point Caslon font and states, “International Rabbit Day.” This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. #InternationalRabbitDay #rabbit #SacHistoryMuseum #museum #printing
