Why did Jesus die for your sins?
Because sin means missing the mark — and humanity missed the mark of God from the very beginning.
The mark was oneness. We were created in His image, to walk with Him, to be one with Him as He is one. But "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We missed the mark.
So Jesus came to hit the mark we couldn't. He died to make atonement — and atonement literally means at-one-ment. Being made ONE again. That's why His final prayer before the cross was "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you" (John 17:21). His death wasn't only about forgiveness. It was about reunion.
And today is the Day of Atonement. The day appointed from ancient times for being made one with God. The veil is torn. The way is open. The price is paid.
So be one today. One with the Father. One with the Son. One with each other. That is the mark. That is Zion.
Drop the division. Drop the shame. Come home. 🤍
